Welcome to our Governor section of the school website.
Livingstone Road Infant and Junior School share a single local governing body that has responsibility for both schools. The governing bodies of both schools federated in 2015; our aim is to improve the outcomes for all children by sharing our expertise, making sure we have the right resources and facilities, as well as ensuring a seamless transition from Infant to Junior School.
As a governing body we pride ourselves on delivering the ethos of the school – Together we can – Learn, Laugh, Dream and Grow. This means we ensure the school is providing the very best for the children. We do this by continually monitoring many aspects of school life. It’s really important we check how well the school is managed and led providing both support and challenge to our leaders. We will check how well the children are doing as well as reviewing how the school is spending their money.
Being a governor is a rewarding way to make a difference. It takes commitment and an interest in school life. A governor will be making a contribution to the future of our community’s children. Governors are recruited on the basis of their skills. Our focus is to recruit governors with skills that will enhance and strengthen our governing body. If you are interested, please contact myself as Chair of Governors via the school office.
There may be a number of instances when you will see us – this may be at parents’ evening or at other school events, and your children will see us on visits during the school day. Why not take a look at our meetings schedule and the following pages to find out how we organise our work to monitor school performance.
