Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Funding is to be utilised by schools to:

Raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap with their peers
Support children and young people with parents in regular armed forces

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to Schools on the following basis:

£1,320 per pupil recorded as Eligible for Free School Meals in the last 6 years (Ever 6 FSM)
£1,900 per looked-after child (LAC) define in the Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority
£1,900 per pupil who has ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order
£300 per pupil recorded as Ever 5 Service Child or in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence

Sports Premium

At Livingstone Road Infant School we are passionate about physical education and value the benefits to our children. We share the Department for Education Vision for the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding;

ALL pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

At Livingstone Road Infant School we are using our sport premium money to improve the 5 key indicators:

the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles
the profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
increased participation in competitive sport

Our overall aim is to raise standards in PE and school sport increasing participation and opportunities to all of our children. We aim to provide high quality lessons and learning for all.

Catch Up Funding

Livingstone Road Primary Federation consists of Livingstone Road Infant and Livingstone Road Junior School, running with a Primary ethos across 2 school sites with one Governing Body and one Senior Leadership Team.

During the first lockdown (March 2020) Year R (current Year 1) and Year 6 (current Year 7) were offered on site education. The take up for this provision was 60%. Because of the low take up, onsite education was offered to disadvantaged pupils in Year 1 (current Year 2) in order to ensure that any gaps in learning, compared to peers, did not widen.

Pupils remaining at home were offered collection of weekly paper packs to support home learning. In September 2020, schools fully re-opened, attendance was good, but for some key families PA began to increase. The focus at this time was for core subjects (Reading, Writing and Maths) and supporting pupil’s regular attendance at school.

In January 2021, schools partially closed again due to another lockdown. Vulnerable children and to children of keyworkers in all year groups were offered onsite education meaning 25% of pupils remained on site. Pupils learning at home accessed online learning via Google Classrooms. The Federation provided any family without suitable technology with at least 1 device.
